GWK Cultural Park
The GWK Cultural Park or "Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park" is design by a well known artists by the name of Nyoman Nuarta. The entire complex of this cultural park alone is quite big around 240 hectares and the statue when it finished will be standing around 150 meters tall with around 64 meters wings span.
The Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is made from around 4000 tons of copper and brass. The design is picturing the Lord Wisnu as the source of wisdom riding on the back of his mythical bird called Garuda.
Currently the statue is not yet finished but you can get the feel of how big the statue will be by looking at the finshed head of Lorn Wisnu and the finished head of the Garuda bird. Beside that you can have various kind of attractions here from many of the supporting venues such as Lotus Pond, Festival Park, Amphitheater, Street Theater, Exhibition Hall, as well as Jendela Bali The Panoramic Resto and souvenir shop.
Another update recently was the finished hands of Lord Wisnu which have been placed temporarily in three different plazas within the park.
The view at GWK Cultural Park is quite amazing, from the highest point where the 20 meter tall copper statue of Lord Wisnu was placed you can view the sunset and sunrise over the magnificent view of Kuta, Benoa and Sanur.
